Conference News: What I learned this week – Jan 15
IoT Grows in Brooklyn: Last summer the team behind APPNATION launched IoT Influencers Summit, attracting more than 800 attendees to Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. Following on the success of this conference, the team has decided to host a sister event on the East Coast. IoT Influencers East will take place on 24 May 2016 at the Brooklyn Expo Center in New York. The event will again focus on the business case for IoT and discuss “the emerging business for IoT app development and platform investment as well as the emerging consumer engagement opportunities.”
CMOs Head West: As APPNATION moves east, the team at Forbes has announced that they will be relocating their CMO Summit from Naples, FL to the West Coast. In 2016 the Forbes CMO Summit, will be held from 2 – 4 November in Coronado, CA. This follows in the footsteps of the Forbes CIO Summit, which happens in March at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay. It too had previously been held in Florida.
Ad:Tech Postponed: In September of 2015, the Comexposium Group announced its acquisition of dmg events’ digital Marketing division, including the ad:tech brand. As a result, ad:tech West will be postponed until 2017 so that the conference mangers have time to plan an even bigger and better show. Prior to the Comexposium acquisition, ad:Tech had announced that it would move its West Coast event to Los Angeles from San Francisco. Ad:Tech claims that they still plan to hold the 2017 event in LA. Ad:tech New York will happen, as planned, in November.
Speaking Opportunity: ISACA’s Cybersecurity Nexus Conference, launched last October, is back by popular demand. The 2016 conference will be held from 17 – 19 October at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. Speaker submissions will be accepted until 8 February. ISACA welcomes proposals focused on best practices that cybersecurity experts need to defend their organizations from malicious threats.
