Security on a Global Scale: A few posts ago I mentioned that O’Reilly Media is launching a new event, The O’Reilly Security Conference in New York on 31 October – 2 November. Well, the conference organizers have received such an overwhelmingly positive response to this announcement that they have decided to launch another Security Conference in Europe.  This event, O’Reilly Security EU will take place from 9 – 11 November 2016 in Amsterdam. They are accepting speaker proposals for both events now.

Argyle Makes Acquisition: Argyle Executive Forum a leading provider of executive-level events such as the CMO and CFO Leadership Forums, has just announced that it is acquiring two event-producing companies: Innovation Enterprise and CFO Magazine. According to the official announcement, Argyle’s offerings will now include “350 live events and 200 webcasts annually.” More information on the acquisition can be found here.

Speaking Opportunity:  Each year, the HIMSS conference brings together more than 40,000 health IT professionals, clinicians, executives and vendors from around the world for education and networking.  HIMSS17 (19 – 23 February in Orlando) has just opened its Call for Proposals and is interested in case studies and presentations about best practices for transforming health through IT.  Speaker submissions may be made through 13 June 2016 following guidelines found here.

Lunchtime Learning: The INTX: The Internet & Television Expo has announced several high-profile speakers for the conference, taking place in a few weeks. In order to get excited about the riveting conversations that can only happen when the worlds of media, entertainment and technology combine, check out some of the sessions from last year’s event.

Coming Up Next: TechCrunch Disrupt, one of the conference kings on the startup scene, will return to New York next week from 9 – 11 May. The organizers recently announced that they will live-stream the entire conference on Facebook this year! The stream will also be embedded on the front page of TechCrunch.com.  In Santa Clara from 10 – 12 May the Internet of Things World will take place.  This event which is self-described as “the world’s largest and most comprehensive IOT event” will run concurrently with Apps World North America, Wearable World Congress, and Future Connected Cars.
