A Different Technique: Apparently the Politik team’s flagship conference, Interzone, which happens each spring, was so well received when it took place in April, that they have decided to re-brand their fall event, previously known as Technique to Interzone Fall.  The conference will still be in Toronto in September and the agenda will remain virtually the same.  The main difference is that they are making this a one-day event which will now take place on 13 September. For a preview of the topics and speakers you can expect at the conference click here.

Calendar Update: WIRED UK’s annual two-day conference has announced that its dates have changed to 3 – 4 November and that it will be held at London’s Tobacco Dock. The full agenda has not been published but they have announced a few of the speakers including co-founder of DeepMind and head of applied AI at Google Mustafa Sueyman, creator of Second Life and now CEO of High Fidelity Philip Rosedale, and Bollywood filmmaker Shekhar Kaphur.

Speaking Opportunity:  CES has opened its call for speakers. Fill out the online form by 22 June to be considered for the 2017 event. The organizers stress that the session objective section of the online form is extremely important. Since there is not room on the form to submit a lengthy speaker bio, it is imperative that you include examples of past speaking engagements as well as video to prove that your speaker candidate is qualified to address the proposed topic. Additional guidelines can be found here.

Lunchtime Learning:  And speaking of CES…check out the videos from the last event in order to better understand the type of content they include on stage.  You will find over-the-top keynote presentations, Super Sessions and event Gary’s Book Club interviews, showcasing the works of prominent authors in the tech industry.

Coming Up Next: Next week is a busy time for marketing and communications professionals.  The American Advertising Federation starts off the week with their Admerica! Conference, held this year at Disneyland in Anaheim.  Also next week, the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) World Conference takes place in New Orleans. And just to prove that marketing-types really know how to choose fantastic conference destinations, the Sustainable Brands Conference will be held in San Diego at the Paradise Point resort and Spa from 6 – 9 June.
