CIOs into the Amazon: This fall Landmark Ventures will not hold its CIO West conference as a standalone event. Instead, the Landmark Ventures team will host a series of networking dinners/events taking place during AWS re:Invent 2018 (26 – 30 November in Las Vegas), rather than a full conference as in previous years.

Speaking Opportunity: RSA Conference 2019 (4 – 8 March; San Francisco) has opened its Call for Speakers. They will use a two-part submission process this year. The main Call for Speakers closes Wednesday, 1 August (11:59 PM Pacific Time). Speakers who would like to be considered exclusively for one of the two Hackers & Threats tracks, must submit by Saturday, 1 September (11:59 PM Pacific Time). Hackers and Threats sessions include discussions about the growing underground economy, advanced threats, APTs, new classes of vulnerabilities, exploitation techniques, reverse engineering and how to combat these problems. Hackers & Threats Advanced is technically advanced and will include live demos and code dissection.

Lunchtime Learning: The annual EG conference brings together more than 500 members of the creative community, to hear “inventors and educators, artists and designers, writers and thinkers, scientists and engineers, musicians, magicians, icons, iconoclasts, young and old” share examples of how they have made their passion projects and ideas into something real.
