Conference News: More Space for Economist; Bloomberg in India; Speak at AWE

Learn About Speaker Strategies

More Space(s) to Learn: The Economist is expanding the Space Economy Summit series in 2026 to reflect the growing scale and diversity of the global space sector. In 2026, they will host two editions “designed to bring together the world’s most influential voices in policy, investment, and technology.” The first, their European edition, will return to Lisbon from 5–6 May and will again be co-hosted by the Portuguese Space Agency and ESA. The Global edition will take place in Orlando where the 2025 conference was held. It will be in Q3 but dates are still TBC. The Economist notes that the two events provide options for engagement “whether your organisation is looking to deepen relationships in Europe or strengthen global visibility across the commercial space ecosystem.”

New Economy in New Delhi: Bloomberg New Economy Forum announced that next year’s 8th annual edition will move from Singapore to India. The 2026 forum will take place 13-15 October 2026 in New Delhi. The move was announced by Mike Bloomberg at this year’s forum in Singapore. According to him, next year’s event “will gather in New Delhi with the cooperation and support of Prime Minister Modi. The Prime Minister has commended the 60-year friendship between India and Singapore and the success of the Forum.”

Submission Opportunity: Augmented World Expo™ (AWE) is the world’s largest conference and expo for professionals to learn, connect and grow their business in the XR ecosystem. They are currently seeking speaker/session ideas for the 2026 US conference which will happen from 15 – 18 June at the Long Beach Convention Center. The conference organizers offer a few tips for a successful speaker proposal: “The AWE audience is incredibly engaged in the XR industry and the best talks are those that inform, educate, or inspire.” Also, “speakers should be qualified industry professionals and joint presentations or panels must reflect diversity.” If you have a topic idea, submit via the online form well before the 21 February deadline.

Lunchtime Learning: Earlier this month, the New York Times held its annual DealBook Summit, hosted by Editor at Large Andrew Ross Sorkin, asking some of the world’s most consequential people – including the CEOs of Anthropic, Bayer, GM, Paramount Skydance, and Palantir, as well as world leaders and policymakers – what drives their thinking, what motivates them, and what they see when they look ahead. Most of the sessions are live streamed and available for full playback here. Short on time? Check out DealBook’s five key takeaways from the summit here, or peruse the live news thread posted the day of the event for video clips and highlights from each speaker.

Coming Up Next Week: While conferences largely go on hiatus during the December holidays, the new year always kicks off with CES in Las Vegas. Organized annually by the Consumer Technology Association/CTA, CES 2026 runs 6-9 January and includes a robust program highlighting advancements in “AI, beauty and fashion tech, cybersecurity, digital health, energy future, gaming, manufacturing, robotics, sustainability, vehicle tech and advanced mobility, wearables, and more.” Many of the sessions are the product of content partnerships, including: C Space at CES, for the for the advertising, entertainment & content communities; CES Foundry, covering AI, blockchain & quantum innovation; Digital Hollywood, at the intersection of entertainment, tech & brands; the Digital Health Summit, exploring the role technology plays in advancing and reforming healthcare; and Parks Associates’ Connections Summit, all about the business of the smart home.

Speaker Strategies will be taking the next couple of weeks off for the holidays but we will be back with more news in the new year! Happy Holidays!
