Conference News: Shoptalk Doubles the Fun; New from The Economist; DeveloperWeek CFP
Two Weeks to Talk Shop: The Hyve Group team behind the Shoptalk series of events recently announced that they will be connecting two of their flagship conferences. In post earlier this month, the Hyve Group posted that they were introducing Shoptalk Innovation Week, “uniting Groceryshop and Shoptalk Fall under a single community umbrella during the critical end-of-year 2027 planning window.” What does this mean for attendees? They are offering a $250 Innovation Week ticket upgrade that extends access into both events. Groceryshop will happen from 22 -24 September in Las Vegas, followed by Shoptalk Fall from 29 September – 1 October in Nashville.
A Trusted Brand’s Antitrust Event: The Economist has held a successful series of General Council conferences for years, but they are specifying that content event further in their newest event. The Antitrust Summit will be held on 28 October in New York and will be open to 350 attendees who are government officials, legal experts and business leaders. The Economist explains that they created the event to establish a neutral setting for debate. “Unlike events that attract like-minded attendees, this summit provides a balanced forum where business leaders, regulators, economists and legal experts can engage in fact-based, constructive dialogue, helping bridge the gap between enforcers and industry.”
Submission Opportunity: DeveloperWeek Conference, self-described as the world’s largest independent software development & AI engineering conference, will return to Santa Clara from 9-11 February in 2027. This year, DeveloperWeek features four distinct parallel conferences – AI DevWorld, ProductWorld, OpsWorld, DevExecWorld – each with dedicated content tracks and themes, and each having their own Call for Speakers processes. Be sure to select the appropriate conference (World) when submitting your proposal. The deadline by which you should submit speakers to be considered in the first round is 28 August.
Lunchtime Learning: Founded in Dallas, EarthX describes itself as “the world’s largest green gathering, dedicated to environmental awareness, education, and collaborative action.” The annual springtime event was held earlier this year to unite those who can change policy, fund innovation, and move markets, from corporate executives and government leaders to entrepreneurs and environmental advocates. Sessions from Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3 are available to view, with speakers and their corresponding timestamp helpfully outlined.

Finally, Summercon – which spans 10-11 July in Brooklyn – has been bringing hackers together since 1987, making it “America’s oldest hacker conference.”
