Conference News: A DLDlightfull Autumn; WeAreDevelopers Expand (again); Unprompted Speaking
A DLD-lightful Fall: DLD had announced its fall programming and while all three conferences are different, the publisher notes that they all have one through-line, they answer “the questions that matter right now.” First up, DLD Sports, described as “where sport meets technology, performance science, and business strategy” will happen during Spain Sail Grand Prix on 5 September in Valencia. At the end of the month, DLD will partner with Caizin, for the Asian New Vision Forum in Singapore (29 – 30 Sept) for a “high-level exchange on Asia’s role in shaping the global agenda.” Finally, on 7 – 8 October, the AI@Strategy Conference will convene in Munich. Designed as a strategic prelude to Davos 2027 and the Munich Security Conference (MSC) 2027, DLD notes that “this conference sets the intellectual agenda for the world’s most pressing AI-driven transformations.”
Bengaluru Welcomes WeAreDevelopers: The team at WeAreDevelopers Conference is preparing for their first US expansion next month in San Jose (23 – 24 September). And they have announced that they will also be hosting a conference in Bengaluru, India later this year. WeAreDevelopers Conference India will gather 2,000+ developers, AI Innovators and Tech Leaders to hear “actionable insights into software development, AI innovation, engineering best practices, and the future of technology.” As part of the global WeAreDevelopers event series, the program will span the entire software development lifecycle across 6+ stages. The event will run from 25 – 26 November at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre.
Submission Opportunity: [un]prompted is an AI security practitioner conference that is self-described as “an intimate, raw, and fun gathering for the professionals actually doing the work, from offense to threat hunting to program building to national policy.” It will take place again in San Francisco from 27 – 29 October. The sessions will be presented across five tracks: Build, Break, Operate, Govern, and Train. The call for speakers is open for anyone who has “shipped, attacked, defended, strategized, or trained their own AI, or spent months cleaning up after it.” Submit ideas via the online form, before the 8 September deadline.
Lunchtime Learning: GDC Festival of Gaming returns to San Francisco on 1 – 5 March 2027 but you can get ready by checking out previous show talks on their Youtube channel. GDC talks cover everything from game design, programming, audio and visual arts to business management, production, online games, and much more. Hear from Rob Pardo who has spent his career shaping games like StarCraft, World of Warcraft, and Hearthstone on what he has learned about building games with the potential to last; Game marketing researcher Chris Zukowski who demonstrates how successful developers have adapted to the changes in how games and demos gain visibility; and Ben Porter of Newzoo who explores the key differences between pc and console monetization.
Coming Up Next Week: LEAP Summit marks a milestone when its fifth edition gets underway 31 August in Riyadh. Organized by Tahaluf (backed by Informa, the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones, and Events Investment Fund/EIF), LEAP describes itself as a “multi-sector technology platform spanning enterprise, startup, investment and government engagement.” IFA Berlin is held 4-5 September at Messe Berlin as one of the world’s “most important events for consumer electronics and home appliances.” At DigitalX (8 September), Cologne’s Rheinauhafen becomes a hub of the digital economy – a place for exchange and new perspectives on AI, the cloud, security, and connectivity. Meanwhile in Düsseldorf, Handelsblatt Summit Future of IT celebrates its 80th (!) anniversary and will explore “Scaling & Innovating in the Era of AI” from 7-9 September. Finally, the 27th annual World Knowledge Forum takes place 8-10 September at the Shilla Hotel Seoul and aims to promote balanced global growth and prosperity through knowledge-sharing.
