Conference News: WIRED and Digiday Launch New Events; Speak at ViVE

Learn About Speaker Strategies

Wiring the World: WIRED is hosting a new global conference, whose first addition will be held right in Miami. WIRED World Fair is self-described as “an event featuring bold ideas, breakthrough technologies, and the people shaping what comes next.” As the name implies, the organizers plan to move the conference to different cities across the world each year. The programming will include interactive demos and displays, multiple concurrent stages of content and live podcasts. Early speaker announcements include Hugging Face Co-founder & CEO Clément Delangue, Colossal’s Co-Founder & CEO Ben Lamm, and The Onion CEO Ben Collins.

Creating Creator Strategies: Digiday has launched a new event that reflects how the lines between media, commerce and influence have blurred. Digiday Creator Strategies will take place on 4 November in New York and examine “the current state of the creator playbook and what’s next for creator partnerships, monetization and brand growth — unpacking how advertisers can buy in without shattering the authenticity crucial to getting consumers to come along for the ride.” The event is primarily for creators, brands, agencies and tech companies who support the ecosystem.

Submission Opportunity: Co-created by HLTH and CHIME, ViVE brings together health providers and payors with the entrepreneurs, investors, and technology influencers working in digital health. The 2027 event will return to Nashville from 14 – 17 March. The conference has opened its call for speakers and noted that next year’s agenda will feature “bold ideas, transformative strategies, and dynamic formats, from panels and case studies to keynote presentations, point-counterpoint debates, and major industry announcements.” If you have a topic to suggest, submit here before the 30 October deadline. The conference has several guidelines that you should review before completing the form, including that they will not review more than 4 executives from 1 organization for consideration and that they prefer to add new faces to the program each year.

Lunchtime Learning: The inaugural DLD Sports took place in Valencia on 5 September bringing together 200 participants and 50 speakers from more than 20 countries. The DLD team noted that this group included “World and Olympic champions, founders, investors, media leaders, politicians and diplomats, corporate executives, club, league and association officials, professors and university presidents, sports lawyers, agents and scouts, and the connectors who hold an ecosystem like this together.” If you were not able to make it to the conference, you can still check out sessions such as Lea-Sophie Cramer (Epix Sports), Christian Teichmann (Hubert Burda Media/Burda Principal Investments),  Luis Vicente (APEX) and Alexander Thiel (Altor Equity Partners) on how sports are rapidly evolving from a “billionaire’s toy” into a profitable, high-growth asset class; Amy Wanday (Okapi Sports Networks), Ollie Cantrill (Insight Eleven), and Stephen Domingo (Okapi Sports) on how Africa can turn its pool of athletic talent into a thriving sports economy; and Victor Wilhelmi, managing director of the Buchinger Wilhelmi health clinics, and sports scientist Borja Martinez Tellez (University of Almería) on how fasting, exercise, and gut health work together to help people live longer, healthier lives.

Coming Up Next Week: This year’s Climate Week NYC – expected to draw over 100k attendees to events taking place across the city from 20-27 September – will focus on “the energy, the impact, and the action that we drive together.” HumanX heads to Amsterdam from 22-24 September to bring leaders across the AI ecosystem together to share implementation stories and accelerate European AI on a global scale. Powered by the experts behind Shoptalk, this year’s Groceryshop is held 22-24 September at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, promising retailer and consumer brand leaders “the playbook, partners and the momentum to get next year’s strategy decided.” DMEXCO – short for the Digital Marketing Exposition & Conference – runs 23-24 September in Cologne, Germany and offers community for key players in digital business, marketing, and innovation. WeAreDevelopers World Congress hosts its inaugural North America event from 23-25 September in San Jose. And on 24 September, Reuters Momentum AI kicks off in Austin for senior enterprise leaders to learn how to scale AI, manage risk, and drive organizational change.
