Learn About Speaker Strategies

Moving the Money: Money20/20 USA announced its next chapter when it wrapped the 2026 show last week. The show moving to the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) and Resorts World on 19-21 October 2027 and will modify the timing of their programming. They were at the Venetian previously. The conference will host the opening keynote on Monday followed by an awards ceremony. Sessions will run on Tuesday – Thursday with the Money by Night party on Tuesday.

When It’s Time to Change: Semicon West just concluded the 2026 conference a few weeks ago in San Francisco. For most of its life the semiconductor industry’s influential gathering was in California with a brief stop in Phoenix in 2025. Earlier this year, the SEMI Americas team announced that Semicon West would be heading back to Phoenix for the long-term and change the conference timing back to the spring. They reiterated that “moving SEMICON West to Phoenix each spring beginning in 2027 brings the event closer to Arizona’s expanding semiconductor ecosystem while balancing our global SEMICON schedule”.  The 2027 event will run from 30 March – 1 April at the Phoenix Convention Center.

Submission Opportunity:  International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) World Conference will take place 13-15 June 2027 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The focus for 2027 is on the future of communication “through connection, technology, and the human experience. In a world where digital pathways continue to expand, how do we build understanding, foster meaningful connections, and find common ground?” If you have a relevant case study to share with communication professionals from around the world, submit here before the 6 November deadline, but be sure you are following IABC’s guidelines. For example: Include diverse leaders and innovators who push the boundaries and make attendees think about how to prepare for the future; Highlight new tools and techniques that foster business growth and (importantly) Provide a high-quality, accessible video demonstrating why an applicant(s) should be considered to speak at the World Conference 2027 and their skill as a presenter.

Lunchtime Learning: When NYT held its Climate Forward last month during NYC Climate Week, their journalists interviewed world leaders, activists, policymakers, and scientists about what it means in this once-in-a-generation moment to build new energy sources, sparked by AI’s insatiable demands for energy.  Sessions from Climate Forward can be streamed in their entirety here. Hear from speakers like NVIDIA’s Head of Sustainability on data centers and building the AI economy; or from Senior Climate Scientist at Project Drawdown on the costs of cutting science funding; or from U.S. Secretary of Energy on whether reshaping America’s energy policy will prepare us for what comes next.

Coming Up Next Week: From 3-4 November, WSJ Tech: California returns to Napa Valley to explore the AI arms race, the hardware bottlenecks fueling it, and the evolving relationship between Silicon Valley and DC. The WIRED World Fair (4 November; Miami) was created for innovators, creators, investors, early adopters, technologists, and enthusiasts who can offer a glimpse into the “cutting edge” from across industries. Bloomberg Tech London gets underway 2 November, exploring the theme “AI at the Crossroads: Scale, Safety and Sovereignty,” and TechCrunch Founder Summit is held on 4 November at SoWA Boston for one day of founder-focused learning and investor insights. And in NYC on 5 November, Brands & Culture Summit features marketing leaders from brands like Amazon Music, Columbia Sportswear, and Heineken tackling the “question that actually matters: how do you turn relevance, credibility and long-term trust into measurable growth?”
