Virtual Reality Event: Momentum, producers of Pivotcon, recently announced that they will be creating a new conference this fall called VRevolution.  Scheduled for October in New York, the event will offer insights from innovative VR experience companies as well as global brands utilizing the technology.  There will, of course, also be some cool product demos.  Momentum expects approximately 500 attendees.

Another Acquisition:  While I’m a bit late in reporting this, it is important enough not to miss.  CEB, a best practice insight and technology company, announced earlier this month that it closed its acquisition of Evanta, the organizer of more than 200 annual events, such as the CIO Summit series.  According to a CEB spokesperson, the acquisition “expands their C-suite and senior executive reach by nearly 50%.”

Speaking Opportunity:  O’Reilly media announced that it will be creating yet another new event in 2016!  The Artificial Intelligence Conference will bring together industry practitioners who are “driving enterprise adoption of AI and, in doing so, changing the landscape of business and society.” The event, which will be partially co-located with Strata+Hadoop World, will happen at the Javits Center from 26 – 27 September. The conference is currently seeking speaker/topic ideas which may be submitted by 6 June here.

Lunchtime Learning:  Earlier this month, Wired Health Conference gathered more than 450 attendees for a day of “new ideas and analysis of the trends driving change and progress across the healthcare industry.” Check out the full content from the day here.

Coming Up Next: Because no conference manager in the US would schedule a conference on or around Memorial Day, all of the action is in Asia next week.  CommunicAsia, taking place from 31 May – 3 June in Singapore will bring together thousands of ICT professionals to experience the latest technologies in 3D Printing, IoT, M2M, Mobile Apps, OTT and more. RISE Conference, brought to us by the same group behind the Web Summit, begins on Monday in Hong Kong with a stellar speaker line up. And Computex another one of Asia’s largest ICT events, will happen at the Taipei World Trade Center from 31 May  – 4 June.
