Tech Review Reviews Future Tech: MIT Technology Review has announced that it will debut a new event at the end of the year, which will “examine, at an executive level, the trends, time lines, and technologies needed to innovate and succeed.” The conference, called Future Compute, which will take place from 2 -3 December in Cambridge, will focus on the technologies that will continue to disrupt the business landscape, including AI, IoT, Cybersecurity, and Edge Computing, among others. The second day of the event will focus exclusively on the business of quantum computing.

Fortune Brainstorms a New Date: A couple months ago, we noted in this newsletter that Fortune was planning to host a new part of its Brainstorm series, focused on AI, which was to take place in Boston, from 23 – 24 September. They announced it in their Eye on A.I. newsletter. Well it appears that another fall conference was not in the cards for the media company. Fortune Brainstorm: A.I. will now run from 27 – 28 April in 2020. It will still be held in Boston.

Speaking Opportunity: RSA Conference (24 – 28 February 2020 in San Francisco), considered one of the top cyber security conferences in the world, has opened its call for speakers. 2 August is the deadline for Full Conference track or Learning Labs speaker submissions, and 16 August is the deadline for Hackers & Threats & RSA Sandbox suggestions. Remember that this is a competitive process – only 20% of speaker suggestions are typically accepted. So read the Tips for Submissions before you begin the process.

Lunchtime Learning: Summer lull in conferences have you down? No matter! Now is a great time to catch up on videos from some of your favorite events. Silicon Valley leading journalists Kara Swisher and Peter Kafka are known for interviewing tech leaders on their ReCode podcast and twice a year on stage at their Code Conference and Code Media events. SIGGRAPH has been exploring the intersection of the adjacent arts, visual effects, gaming, and technology industries for more than 40 years. In Boston, MIT’s INFORMS 2019 Healthcare Conference will explore how analytics, operations research and management science can transform medicine, healthcare policy and delivery. Running 27-29 July, this conference will tackle the theme “Transforming Health with Data, Mind and Hand”.
