The Buzz at DTS 24: Dublin Tech Summit, dubbed “Europe’s Fastest Growing Tech Festival” will return to RDS on 29 – 30 May 2024. Next year they plan to make some changes to accommodate their growth, including the addition of a new stage. The 2024 event will include a “Tech Hive” a stage within a beehive shaped structure on the show floor that will include niche, technical, in-depth talks exploring cutting-edge innovations, complex code, and advanced software.

HCI Goes Mile High: For the past three years, Human Capital Institute (HCI) has scheduled webinar programming for its members across a variety of workforce, compensation, recruitment, and development topics. In 2024, that will change when HCI’s first in-person event since 2020 kicks off. HCI’s Employee Experience Conference will run 1-2 May in Denver, serving as the institute’s flagship event next year and focusing on matters of well-being, mental health, and DEI strategies.

Submission Opportunity: RSA Conference is one of the most popular submission opportunities we are asked about, and for good reason. Self-described as “the largest and most important computer security conference in the world,” RSA 2024 is scheduled for 6-9 May in San Francisco and accepting speaker proposals until Friday 6 October. Do you have what it takes to speak onstage at RSA? Keep in mind a few useful tips: 1) Make sure the content is fresh and hasn’t been presented elsewhere recently in the same fashion; 2) RSA attendees know the basics, so plan to submit a topic on a more advanced or complex cybersecurity issue; and 3) New this year, submitters can include an example of past speaking to bolster their proposal. Lunchtime Learning: Viva Tech was created in 2016 by Publicis Groupe & Les Echos to highlight innovation and the startup culture, but the event has since grown to become one of Europe’s largest gatherings in finance, technology, and innovation. Videos from across Viva Tech’s 2023 pavilions are available for on demand viewing until the end of the calendar year, so now is the time to watch conversations with leaders like Marc Benioff and Elon Musk, as well as innovators from across France, Europe, and worldwide. One of our favorite parts about the on demand video is that you can search thematically across the Viva Tech program, choosing between AI, energy/climate tech, sports, cybersecurity, food tech, scaling, and more.

Coming Up Next Week: The fall conference seasons picks up steam when Code Conference runs 26-27 September under the Vox brand and hosted by The Verge Editor-in-Chief Nilay Patel, Platformer Founder Casey Newton, and CNBC Senior Media and Tech Correspondent Julia Boorstin, though Kara Swisher will participate again in the conference she co-founded. Grace Hopper Celebration/GHC will explore “The Way Forward” for women in computing when it gets underway 26 September in Orlando, partnering with local leaders and organizations that are advocating for human rights and working in Florida to create a safe, welcoming space. GSMA’s flagship US event kicks off 26 September, as Mobile World Congress/MWC Las Vegas convenes to accelerate 5G in enterprise and advance connectivity across industries. Founded in 2017 as a Canadian non-profit organization, Elevate has expanded its tech and innovation festival for 2023, scheduled for 26-28 September in Toronto. Another event that got its start in 2017 is Silicon Slopes Summit, which celebrates the intersection of tech, innovation, and business in Utah. The Atlantic Festival (28-29 September; Washington, DC) promises a gathering of great minds in politics, culture, business, tech, and climate “who don’t think alike.” Last but not least, InfoSec World is known as the “business of security” conference and runs 25-27 September in Orlando.
